Guru Nanak Club girls win Ludhiana 3×3 league title

Guru Nanak Club’s girls sealed the Ludhiana 3×3 Basketball League crown on Tuesday in Ludhiana, completing a commanding tournament run and sending a clear message about their rise in the women’s game. In a calm, clinical final, they turned defensive stops into fast-break points and never let the tempo slip.

From the first tip, the eventual champions dictated the rhythm, squeezing space, forcing rushed shots, and knocking down timely buckets whenever their opponents threatened to close the gap. They finished the tournament unbeaten, averaging over 15 points per game, a sign of their consistency throughout the league.

“This win means a lot to us because the competition was tough,” said the team captain after the final. “We trusted our training and played for each other.” A coach from the winning side added that the players “showed maturity beyond their age,” crediting discipline and teamwork for the success.

The runners-up admitted the better team prevailed. “They were quicker and more organised today,” their coach said, congratulating Guru Nanak Club on the title.

Meanwhile, sporting action in Ludhiana continued as a district-level hockey tournament kicked off alongside the basketball event, highlighting the city’s busy grassroots sports calendar.
